GERARD EPPELE was born in Cherbourg in 1929. Painter, sculptor. After two years at the Aubusson National Tapestry School, he became a film decorator, working for Renoir, Autant-Lara, Buñuel. In 1959, Jean Dubuffet hired him as an assistant and soon encouraged him to exhibit his drawings (several personal exhibitions in France and abroad: United States, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Algeria, Morocco, Kenya, Egypt ). Painter and sculptor, Gérard Eppelé has also accompanied his poet friends in bibliophilic editions since 1962. A plastic arts teacher at the Villa Arson in Nice from 1964 to 1992, he now lives in Arles.
