ROBERT MARTEAU, born 8/02/1925 (Virollet en Poitou) - 15/05/211 (Paris), is a French writer, poet, novelist, translator, essayist, diarist. In 1956, he attended the corridas of Bayonne and will then devote all his summers to bulls.He is artistic director of short films commissioned by Radio-Canada television and devoted to the painters Jean Le Moal, Gustave Singier, Jean Bertholle, Roger Bissière, Jean Lurçat.
In 1962, he collaborates to the Po & sie review. In 1965, he produced several works with Marc Chagall.
Prix 2005 Grand Prix de poésie of the Académie française for all his poetic work, 2010 Prix Mallarmé for his collection Le Temps Ordinary (Champ Vallon editions, 2009).
